Introduction

Welcome. My name is James Garrett, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Barrington, IL. As a therapist, I take the issue of privacy very seriously. Therefore, everyone receives my Notice of Privacy Practices when we begin working together. It describes privacy protections for people meeting with me for therapy. Here, I'd like to share the privacy policy for visitors to my website. I am committed to the privacy of my website visitors.

Website Visitors

Like most sites, this one collects information that web browsers and servers normally make available. For example, browser type, language preference, referring site, and visitor request dates and times. This is non-personally identifying information collected to help understand how visitors use the site. Also, the site may collect personally identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) address. However, I do not use that information to identify visitors.

Forms

My site does not have any forms to collect personal information from you for my use. For example, there are no contact or newsletter signup forms. The Google Map feature is for your use in getting directions to my office. To the best of my knowledge, it does not keep any personally identifying information.

Cookies

Cookies are text files placed on your computer. They automatically collect standard information about how you use my site. This information is used to track visitor use of my site and to create statistical reports on site use.

Third Party Links

This privacy policy only applies to my site, named at the beginning of this document. However, my site has links to other sites provided by third parties. And, these other parties are not under my control. Therefore, please be aware that I am not responsible for any data provided to other parties. So, when you go to another site by clicking a link in this site, you should read that site's privacy policies.

I make every effort to preserve privacy for my site visitors. However, I may be required by law to disclose information. For example, when I have a good-faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to comply with a judicial proceeding, a court order, or other legal process.

I may change my Privacy Policy at my sole discretion. If I do, I will update this page. Therefore, I encourage you to check this page often for changes. And, if you use the site after I make changes, you will be agreeing to those changes. I posted the last privacy policy update on 2020-06-27.
